A watch display curves at the edge, and that is precisely where tempered glass fails. It either stops short of the curve and leaves the rim bare, or it lifts within a few weeks and shows a white halo around the edge. The top layer is elastic. When something fine drags across it — a fingernail, a zip, a grain of sand — the polymer deforms rather than tearing, and then relaxes back into shape. Light scratches close over on their own, usually inside 24 hours, faster in warm weather. It is why a film that has been on a wrist for six months still looks clean, while a tempered glass slowly collects a haze of hairlines that never leave. Deep gouges will not disappear, but almost nothing a watch meets in normal use is deep.
Hard on the outside, soft where it matters
The top layer is a 9H hard coat and takes the scratches. The middle is a shock absorbing core that spreads the force of a knock across the whole film instead of letting it land on one point of the display, and it is the layer that closes light scratches on its own. The base is a silicone adhesive that grips without trapping air, so it goes on bubble free and peels away clean with no residue. All of it together measures 0.15 mm — which is why the watch still feels bare under your finger and the film disappears the moment it is on.

1. Clean the display
Wipe the screen with the alcohol pad in the box, then lift the last specks with the dust sticker. A clean surface is the whole secret to a bubble free finish.
2. Peel and align
Peel the backing tab and lower the protector over the square display. It stays repositionable while you line it up, so take your time getting it square to the bezel.
3. Press from the centre
Press down in the middle and work outwards. Any small bubbles at the edge pull themselves out over the next few hours as the film settles.
